Delivered up by God and man,
He followed
As The silent Lamb;
Forsaken and despised by those
For whom He tasted
Death's dark throes.

Displayed upon the cross
for all
To rescue them
From Adam's fall.
And though they mocked Him
All the while,
He did not threaten or revile.

Then darkness covered
All the land
By the Father's hand;
The hand that lifted
Jesus up
And poured upon Him
Sins full cup.

The cry that reached
To heaven's throne
When He was judged there
All alone
Will ring
Through all eternity
"It is finished,"
Just as decreed.
